The log playhouse
construction process:
| Designed to last, the floor frame for
the structure is made out of pressure treated 2x8 lumber
with a double rim joist all around. The subfloor
is pressure treated 3/4" plywood as
well. |
 |
 |
This
true full log playhouse is built using the same
techniques and skill involved in the full size log homes
we build. |
| Even the roof system is completely log
construction. The ceiling consists of
tongue-and-groove pine paneling, and is insulated
with 2" rigid foam before sheathing. |
 |
 |
A
little Big Helper loves to help with the cleaning up at
the site! The roof is tongue-and-grooved,
insulated and sheathed. The soffit and drip-edge
are complete also at this stage. |
| Another proud little Big Helper in front
of a finished exterior. Again, the products
and processes are the same as in a full-sized log
house. |
 |
 |
Details and craftsmanship are number
one. |
| A
view here of a finished exterior wall, chinking and
staining complete. |
 |
 |
Playhouses
are wired for lights, but no outlets unless
requested lest the curious little ones be
tempted! |
| The structure is created with as much
unique detail as possible. No two houses are the
same and the result is a little Lodge that pleases all
who appreciate fine craftsmanship. |
 |
 |
View of finished interior. Note cedar
slab window and door trim and light switch box
detail. |
| A
loft complete with log railing and accessed by a log
ladder is a child's dream! |
 |
 |
The
view from the loft. |
| Hand made Dutch door - top opens separately
from bottom. |
 |
 |
For the
individual who appreciates detail and craftsmanship,
this is a useful, distinctive piece of work for your
property. |
| The
finished product is special, unique, durable, enjoyable,
and as eye-catching as any full-sized
lodge. |
